                    Erin: Founder of  G.T.O

Picture
Erin Timperley is a 22 year old college graduate from Cal state University Northridge. She received her bachelors in Cinema and Television arts in May 2011.  She currently  works as a Camera Operator for Entertainment Studios.

Rewind ten years before there was college or even high school. To a young Erin whom at the time was 12 years old. It was then that she decided she wanted to help others. In 2001 Erin came up with idea to get all of her friends and family to donate toys to her. Instead of keeping them for herself she would pass them out to kids who were sick.  She convinced her cousin Allie to  help her run the organization and together they decided to donate to Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles. The very same hospital in which Erin’s brother Joel was treated for Non Hodgkins Lymphoma  ( a type of cancer) when he was seven years old. Giving back to the very same hospital that saved his life seemed to be the most fitting choice.

Allie: Longest Member

Allie is 20 years old and joined the G.T.O. in 2003 when she was 13.  Erin asked Allie if she wanted to help put a smile on a child's face who was suffering from the terrible effects of cancer.  Right away Allie was interested in the idea and became involved.  That year she raised more money then anyone in the organization had and has continued to be a huge help in raising money and buying toys!
Allie is going into her second year in college to get get AA in Mathematics and biological sciences
and is planning on becoming a forensic scientist when she gets older.  Every day she is getting closer and closer to her dream of keeping the public safe.

The G.T.O. in 2004

The members in this picture are no longer part of the G.T.O. but they did help so much when they where involved.  On the top row from left to right is Jacob, Erin and Allie.  On the bottom row there is Joel, Kaylah, and Lucus.

In the year of 2004, the G.T.O. collected $1,200 by saving up from their household chores, washing cars, recycling, and any other odd jobs.  Who would have thought that a group of six kids were capable of saving their money and putting it to a better cause.
