Give To Others

Erin: The Founder of G.T.O.

Erin is 21 years old and decided to create this organization when she was 12 back in 2001.  During the first 2 years Erin decided that she wanted to help other people out, she started donating to the abused shelter for children.  Eventually she wanted to donate to a cause that she can relate to.  Therefore, the third year of donating went to the Children's Hospital of L.A. This is because her older brother Joel, who is now 21 years old, was treated at that very hospital when he was only 7 for a type of cancer called Non Hodgkins Lymphoma.  She felt that is was her time to give back to the hospital that saved her brothers life.
Erin is currently attending Cal State Northridge where she is studying to become a film Major.

Allie: Longest Member

Allie is 19 years old and joined the G.T.O. in 2003 when she was 13.  Erin asked Allie if she wanted to help put a smile on a child's face who was suffering from the terrible effects of cancer.  Right away Allie was interested in the idea and became involved.  That year she raised more money then anyone in the organization had and has continued to be a huge help in raising money and buying toys!
Allie is going into her second year in college to get get AA in Mathematics and biological sciences
and is planning on becoming a forensic scientist when she gets older.  For the last three years Allie has been part of the Sheriff Explorer program.  Every day she is getting closer and closer to her dream of keeping the public safe.

The G.T.O. in 2004

The members in this picture are no longer part of the G.T.O. but they did help so much when they where involved.  On the top row from left to right is Jacob, Erin and Allie.  On the bottom row there is Joel, Kaylah, and Lucus.

In the year of 2004, the G.T.O. collected $1,200 by saving up from their household chores, washing cars, recycling, and any other odd jobs.  Who would have thought that a group of six kids were capable of saving their money and putting it to a better cause.
